Description
Saint-Romain wine region has a long history of producing high quality wines, dating back to Roman times, earning it the title "the land of vines” among locals. It was one of the first regions in France where indigenous people including the Celts and Gallo-Romans, began cultivating vines making it one of the oldest appellations in France. Saint-Romain was granted AOC status in 1947.
