Description

It was already known in the 12th century and at that time had the name 'La Mothe de Margaux' but there were not yet any vines. Throughout the generations, the skills brought by some, the innovations of others, have gradually turned Chateau Margaux into a wine of excellence and led to the First growth rating in 1855. Andre Mentzelopoulos bought the estate in 1977. He died in 1980, too young and too quickly for him to be able to enjoy the revival of his Chateau Margaux. His daughter, Corinne Mentzelopoulos, is today the owner.
