Description

G.H.Mumm Grand Cordon Champagne is the epitome of the House's signature style, expressing all the nuances of the Pinot Noir grape variety from the Champagne region of France. The grapes are sourced from more than 100 crus for a bold, rich Champagne that subtly balances the power and structure of the Pinot Noir with the elegance and minerality of Chardonnay and the fruitiness of Meunier. The result is a structured, vinous, bubbly Champagne featuring intense, complex flavors of fresh fruit with a long, powerful finish. This Other Sparkling Wine from the Champagne region has an expressive nose with notes of ripe peaches, apricots and pineapple underscored by touches of vanilla and pastry, dried fruits, yeast and honey. A portion of the reserve wines in this cuvee is aged in oak vats, creating even greater aromatic complexity.  This Champagne received 93 out of 100 from Wine Spectator in 2023.

Champagne

Champagne, located in northeastern France, is famous for its sparkling wines made primarily from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. The region’s cool climate and chalky soils contribute to the high acidity and minerality of its wines. The unique production method, known as Méthode Champenoise, involves a secondary fermentation in the bottle, creating its signature bubbles. This labor-intensive process, combined with the region’s strict regulations, leads to the quality and consistency of Champagne. The wines range from bone-dry to sweet, with flavors of green apple, citrus, and brioche. Champagne’s versatility makes it perfect for celebrations and food pairings, from oysters to fried chicken.
