Description

This dry Riesling is produced with fruit from estate-owned vineyards in the red slate soils found in the contiguous Middle Mosel villages of Urzig, Erden, and Kinheim. Following the traditional methods of Ernst Loosen's great-grandfather, Peter Loosen, this wine is fermented in 3,000-liter, neutral oak casks and kept on the full lees for 12 months. The extended lees contact stabilizes the wine naturally and gives it time to develop a harmonious balance.

Mosel

Mosel, in Germany, is acclaimed for its Riesling. The region’s steep, slate-soil vineyards and cool climate contribute to the high acidity and minerality of its wines. Mosel Rieslings are known for their purity, precision, and distinctive regional character. The wines from this region are characterized by their balance, elegance, and vibrant flavors. Mosel Rieslings often exhibit flavors of green apple, citrus, and peach, with a hint of slate.
