Description
Lynch Bages 2020 is beautifully sun-ripened, with freshness and good acidity. This is underpinned by very ripe but powerful tannins.. Close to Pauillac, the Lynch-Bages Estate owes part of its name to the ancient hamlet of Bages, which for centuries was home to generations of winemakers. The vineyard was established and then expanded by the Déjean family. Its great wine history began in the eighteenth century when, in 1728, it became the property of Chevalier Drouillard. Upon his death, Pierre Drouillard bequeathed the estate to his daughter, Elizabeth, who was the wife of Thomas Lynch. The property thus passed into the Lynch family. The estate was purchased by Jean-Charles Cazes in 1934. His successors, André, Jean Michel and nowadays Jean-Charles Cazes, have worked tirelessly to develop and promote this well-know château included in the 1855 classification. In 2017, a renovation project for Lynch-Bages began in collaboration with Chien Chung (Didi) Pei. After four years of work, the 2020 vintage, the first harvest vinified in the new facilities, opens a new chapter in the life of the estate
