Description

The 2nd Cru Classe in the Official Classification of 1855 is a classic Saint-Julien. Owned by the Borie family since 1941, Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou takes its name from its terroir. Deposited along the river, gravels dating from the Ice Age have forged the identity of the terroir of this exceptional vineyard. Situated close to the Gironde estuary, the vines benefit from the river's role as a thermal regulator. Led with brio and determination by the talented Bruno Borie, Ducru-Beaucaillou is now at the top of the Saint-Julien Appellation. Ducru-Beaucaillou boasts the refined structure, balance and depth that endow this vintage with a rare density. A wine for laying down by definition, Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou grand cru blossoms with aromatic complexity as it ages.
