Description

Atop the hierarchy of Beaujolais Crus are Moulin-à-Vent and Morgon, with notable aging potential. Often called
the most “Burgundian” cru, Moulin-à-Vent shows complexity, finesse and length. Château des Jacques Moulinà-Vent can age at least 10-20 years. Following harvest, a portion of the grapes are destemmed before the wine is
vinified in closed vats with pumping over. Finally, the wine matures in oak barrels.

Beaujolais

Beaujolais, in eastern France, is famous for its light, fruity red wines made from the Gamay grape. The region’s granite soils and moderate climate contribute to the fresh, vibrant character of its wines. Beaujolais Nouveau, released shortly after harvest, is celebrated for its youthful, fruity flavors and is a popular choice for festive occasions. The region also produces more complex wines from its ten Crus, such as Morgon and Moulin-à-Vent, which offer deeper flavors of red fruit, earth, and spice. Beaujolais wines are known for their approachability and versatility, making them a great choice for everyday drinking and food pairings.
