Description

A pale yellow colour, Lions de Suduiraut Blanc Sec 2023 presents an open nose on white flowers and citrus fruits, then with aeration it evolves towards notes of passion fruit and a mineral touch. The attack is round and fresh, the delicious mid-palate reveals flavours of pink pomelo, pear and toasted hazelnut. The finish is persistent and saline with aromas of hazelnut and pear. A generous wine with good freshness. The history of Château Suduiraut, in Sauternes, goes back to centuries. After the total destruction of the property by the Duke d’Epernon in the 1600’s, Count Blaise de Suduiraut replanted the vineyard and restored the estate to its former glory. On 18 April 1855 the estate was classed as a Premier Cru during the official wine classification programme in the Gironde winegrowing area. AXA Millésimes acquired Suduiraut in 1992 with the aim of preserving and perpetuating the estate's remarkable tradition of vineyard management and winemaking. Inspired by the great Suduiraut wines of the past, the new management has enabled this great vineyard to fulfill its full potential in recent years.

The region’s diverse soils and maritime climate contribute to the complexity of its wines. Bordeaux is divided into several sub-regions, including Médoc, Saint-Émilion, and Pomerol, each producing distinct styles. The wines are characterized by their structure, elegance, and rich flavors. Bordeaux’s classification system, established in 1855, highlights the region’s top estates, known as Grand Cru Classé. Some of these wines are highly sought after by collectors and known for their exceptional quality.
