Description
Haut-Batailley Verso 2020 displays a deep purple colour. The predominantly Merlot blend offers a charming nose of blackcurrant and blueberry. Its tannic structure is both supple and precise. The palate is characterised by notes of black fruit, with a slightly spicy finish. It is a harmonious and compelling wine.. The great vineyard of Batailley, acquired in the 30s by the Borie family, was shared in the 40s giving birth to two wines: Château Batailley and Château Haut-Batailley. These two vineyards of Pauillac are part of the famous ranking of Grands Crus Classés Médoc in 1855. In order to improve the vinification and aging of Château Haut-Batailley wines, a vast investment program has been accomplished with the construction of a new winery, a new winery and the total renovation of all old operating buildings. The Cazes family, owner of Château Lynch-Bages, bought Château Haut-Batailley, Grand Cru Classé 1855 in Pauillac in 2017, from the family of Brest-Borie.A transmission between two families very solidly anchored in the Médocain and Pauillacais landscape for several generations.
