Beneath toasty, vanilla oak influence lurks mint, plum preserves and dried black currant aromas. The palate shows brightness and verve despite a heavy brushstroke of chalky tannins that dry out the mouth on the finish. Nevertheless, this shows plenty of Coonawarra character. — Christina Pickard
