Domaine Chanzy Mercurey Premier Cru Clos du Roy Rouge 2018

This vineyard takes its name from Le Clos du Roi, as one of the hereditary vineyards of the Dukes of Burgundy. Thus, for instance the Clos du Roy in Chenove was originally called "Le Clos du Duc". In Aloxe–Corton and Beaune, there are also two Le Clos du Roi estates that belonged to the Dukes of Burgundy. In Mercurey, Le Clos du Roy first belonged to the Montaigu family.
