Description

This wine is sourced from a plot bordering the northern residential area of the village, next to the "Chenevottes" and the "Vergers". At least two explanations relate to the name "Macherelles": it is either an edible plant that grew in ancient times in this place, or the feminine of "Machur", thus designating the inhabitants of the village. The first layer of soil is composed of clay drained by the rains from the top of the hill. When digging, there are limestone elements in which the roots of the vine plunge in search of water and nutrients from the soil. This wine offers a fine balance of structure and elegance, reflecting the exceptional terroir of Chassagne-Montrachet.
