Description

A tangy and tight red with blackberry and black-olive character. Hint of dark chocolate. Medium to full body and firm, tight tannins. Fresh and energetic dark fruit. Beylot, a wine merchant, became the owner of Château Peyreau in the middle of the 19th century. It is a large property located north-east of Saint-Emilion. Michel Boutet took it over in the sixties, divided it into two estates and managed to have the best plots ranked Premier Grand Cru under the Clos de L'Oratoire name. He sold the whole property (Peyreau and Clos de l'Oratoire) to the Count Joseph-Hubert von Neipperg in 1971. The Count is descended from a very ancient noble family coming from the valley of Wüttemberg and owner of vineyards. Both estates given initially to a technical manager are directly administrated by Stephan Von Neipperg, an agronomist and the son of Joseph-Hubert.
