Description

The estate originally consisted of a gravelly 2 hectare plot in the commune of Lalande de Pomerol. It now totals 14 hectares. Eight of these are located in a single block surrounding a modern, functional cellar built in 1992. Chateau Sablard du Grand Moine's winery has all the latest technical innovations. Double insulation prevents major changes in temperature and small stainless steel vats enable single plot vinification. Careful winemaking methods and constant striving for quality in both the vineyard and the cellar have made Chateau Sablard du Grand Moine one of the finest wines in the Lalande de Pomerol appellation.

Bordeaux, in southwestern France, is one of the world’s most prestigious wine regions, known for its Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blends. The region’s diverse soils and maritime climate contribute to the complexity of its wines. Bordeaux is divided into several sub-regions, including Médoc, Saint-Émilion, and Pomerol, each producing distinct styles. The wines are characterized by their structure, elegance, and rich flavors. Bordeaux’s classification system, established in 1855, highlights the region’s top estates, known as Grand Cru Classé. Some of these wines are highly sought after by collectors and known for their exceptional quality.
