Description

Located just west of the ancient town of Saint Emilion, Chateau Beau-Sejour Becot lies on the limestone plateau of Saint-Martin de Mazerat. The Chateau's viticultural tradition dates to the Gallo-Roman period, and it was given its name in 1787 by a General who wanted to commemorate the "beau-sejour", or lovely stay, he spent there. Acquired by Michel Becot in 1969, he transformed an ancient limestone quarry beneath the chateau into a cellar and worked to improve the estate until his retirement. Today his two sons follow in his footsteps, striving to produce excellent and expressive wines.
