Description

Located just west of the ancient town of Saint-Emilion, Chateau Beau-Sejour Becot lies on the limestone plateau of Saint-Martin de Mazerat. The chateau's winemaking tradition dates back to Gallo-Roman times, and was given its name in 1787 by a general who wanted to commemorate the time Beau-Sejour spent there. Acquired by Michel Becot in 1969, he transformed an old limestone quarry beneath the chateau into a cellar and worked to improve the estate until his retirement. Today, his two sons follow in his footsteps, striving to produce excellent, expressive wines.
