Description

This clos, situated beneath the parcel of Les Marconnets was the property of the Dukes of Burgundy. When Louis XI attached Burgundy to the crown of France in 1482, this vineyard was re-christened Clos du Roi. Today, Bouchard Pere & Fils holds a little less than on hectare of this Premier Cru. The wines from this vineyard have a lovely roundness and elegance due to the clay-limestone subsoil.
