Description

For almost 400 years, the 2nd Grand Cru Classe in 1855 Chateau Rauzan-Segla reigns with panache on the lands of the very prestigious appellation Margaux, located on the left bank of the Bordeaux region. Restructuring of the vineyard, modernisation of the winery and the cellar, the careful attention of the owners has allowed Chateau Rauzan-Segla to rise to the top of its appellation wines. The saying goes that the great terroirs «look at the water » and Chateau Rauzan-Segla is located in the immediate vicinity of the Gironde. True mosaic of terroirs, the vineyard of Chateau Rauzan-Segla enjoys an exceptional location. Playing a role of climate regulator, the river is at the origin of the famous graves garonnaises deposited along the banks that allow to capture the heat of the day to better reflect it at night by ensuring an optimal maturity of the vine. In addition to the deep graves, the vineyard of Rauzan-Segla has superb croupes of fine graves and clay-limestone soils. On these poor lands, the typical varieties of the Medoc find the conditions conducive to their development. Cabernet Sauvignon, the emblematic black grape variety of the Left Bank, represents the majority of the vineyard's encepagement, complemented by Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Terroir of excellence for exceptional wines, the wines of Chateau Rauzan-Segla are a model of the Margaux appellation. Alliance of power and finesse, they transcribe with purity and righteousness the identity of their terroir. Complex and intense, the wines of Chateau Rauzan-Segla unveil a magnificent bouquet evolving on the freshness of the scents of small red fruits and the delicacy of floral notes of violet while the palate is outlined on a soft mouth offering a superb silky texture guided by the structure monument that brings Cabernet Sauvignon. An emblem of Margaux simply.
